The right format for nutritional transparency?
Nutrition labels were initially created to educate people about the link between diet and heart disease; something which over the years has developed (and will evolve further) to include caloric breakdown to address the issues of obesity.
Yet from the good that it is meant to be, corporations have found ways in which to present the stated data to either ''confuse'' or ''hide'' the fact that their product has hidden ingredients that contain additional calories in a variety of ways...

In short, the more Green on the label, the healthier the choice. If you buy a food that has all or mostly green on the label, you know straight away that it's a healthier choice.
Amber means neither high nor low, so you can eat foods with all or mostly amber on the label most of the time.
But any Red on the label means the food is high in fat, saturated fat, salt or sugars, and these are the foods one should try and reduce where possible - or consider it as an occasional treat. These foods should be consumed less often and in smaller quantities.

Keeping it Simple is how we like it.
